Redheaded athlete-turned-musician Dan Godlin spent his high school years in Boston juggling two clashing personas: that of a rough-and-tumble football captain and also a sensitive, heartfelt singer-songwriter. Despite the alluring Division I Ivy League scholarship opportunities, Dan decided to follow his passion of music. Taking his pop/rock cues from bands like Matchbox Twenty, Goo Goo Dolls, and The Fray, Godlin moved to New York City, enrolled full-time at NYU, and simultaneously performed his original songs up and down Bleecker Street on weeknights and weekends, grabbing any opportunity he could get.
Eager to take his show on the road, Dan graduated from NYU in 2012, released his debut album Loving On Empty, and quickly became the opening act for artists such as Howie Day, Tyler Hilton, Ryan Cabrera, and Anna Nalick. Not long after its release, Godlin's debut album garnered a spot on the Top 200 “Hot AC” radio charts and reached the #3 spot on iHeartRADIO's "New! Countdown". He was named Channel One’s Artist of the Month and was later nominated for Artist of the Year.
In late 2013, Dan released a follow-up EP, In Between. Many of the songs on his EP, as well as his debut album, landed placements on E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, MTV's The Challenge, ABC Family's The Vineyard, and Teen Nickelodeon's Degrassi, to name a few. The first single, "Where We Belong", of his follow-up EP, In Between, was featured on American Airlines' most popular radio station "The Hit List" (alongside Ed Sheeran, LMFAO, and Ariana Grande) as well as in the opening credits of The Suicide Note, a Lifetime indie film. Internationally, Godlin's music began gaining traction when his song "Hardly Wait" landed in the trailer of Chinese-Hong Kong major motion picture Women Who Flirt.
Dan released his second full-length album, Ambition, in early 2016 and soon began touring with chart-topping boy band of the early 2000s, O-Town, on their comeback tour of the US and Canada. That same year, his most popular power-ballad to date, "For Me, For Life", aired in the season finale of TNT's crime drama series Major Crimes. Other notable performances throughout Godlin's career include opening for Matt Nathanson, Colbie Caillat, and Plain White T's at the renowned Live In The Vineyard festival and showcasing at Hollywood's Annual MUSEXPO conference. Based in New York City, Godlin is currently producing a brand new single to be released in late 2017.
